A Serbian state within Montenegro?

BELGRADE -- The Serbian Radical Party will support the movement for creating a Serbian state within Montenegro.

According to party leader Tomislav Nikolić, if Montenegro gains independence, his party will support the movement for creating a Serbian state within the borders of the independent state of Montenegro.

He accused the Montenegrin parliamentary officials of behaving hypocritically and holding meetings while Serbia-Montenegro is falling apart. He also said that regardless of the referendum’s outcome, relations between Serbia and Montenegro will not remain normal after May 21.

“I am not surprised by the politicians in Montenegro, but I am surprised by the officials in Serbia who continue to make decisions regarding the federal union while the Montenegrin representatives continue to adamantly claim that they are not a part of this union.” Nikolić said during a meeting of the Serbia-Montenegro Parliament.

He also addressed Montenegrin officials who support independence, stating that “their country” will never have good relations with Serbia if it becomes independent.
